VOLUNTEER
The Children's Project was founded on the spirit of volunteerism. In Sanskrit the word is 'seva', which literally means 'selfless service', or giving without desire for personal gain. Inherent in this is the understanding that the same Divine spirit that is within one is within all and when we extend our heart and hands to uplift another being, we are also uplifting ourselves.

Volunteers from all over the world come to CPT. Some stay a few days or weeks, while others have yet to leave. Many return annually. The work opportunities are not limited to teaching and as a growing family, we can use support in many areas: in the garden or kitchen, working on building construction, on the coffee plantation and as housemothers for the children.

Responsible, mature individuals who have the time and inclination are very much welcome. Interested people can send us a letter in English with their objectives, schedule and what they'd like to offer. Resumes/CVs and references are appreciated, if available. Please CONTACT US for more details.

"Guest is God", they say in India and we definitely do want to make things as gracious as possible for volunteers. CPT can coordinate a variety of accommodation options ranging from 'free' on up, depending on the individual's needs and commitment. Facilities on-site are still under development and those prepared to 'rough it' will not be disappointed. Meals can be shared with us or taken out - again as you like. "Love All, Serve All" really is our motto and we honour all as children of the Divine. In turn, we ask that guests respect the mission of the school and community, which is to guide the lives of a special group of young ones to their highest potential, so they can take an active role in their communities and the world. The children do come first!

Society is the coming together of people. Cooperation among people in a society, motivated by spontaneity and by pure intentions, is the hallmark of seva. Seva can be identified by means of two basic characteristics: Compassion and willingness to sacrifice.
