Building To Last
The monsoon is upon us, as it always is from July through September. Still the construction work on our new home and school building is ongoing and we offer great thanks to the diligent workers who brave it through. CPT's president, Michael Galligan, is supervising the building work and spends as much time on the land as his other duties allow. Particular appreciation goes to our trustee, Rajesh P. R., a Coorg native, who daily watches over the acquisition of materials, work crews and the general construction process. Rajesh is supported in this task by Peter Cruz, who joined CPT 18 months ago to assist Michael with accounting and general administration, but who readily lends his hand to any task.

Last October 2009 the children were moved away from the construction site and back to Puttaparthi, where we began. We have rented several apartments in addition to the two large original flats and there our classes continue. Puttaparthi does provide us with some excellent teachers and our life away from the forest gives the children a chance to develop more social discipline as well as deepen their inner life through regular quiet periods for study, art and meditation.

Everyone is eager to return to our forest home, but it looks to be at least another six months until we realize that dream. We regret that until then we will not be able to accept any new children due to space limitations - nevertheless, the growth and opening to love continue!
