Human Values integrated instructional Model
The Human Values Integrated Instructional Model was developed by Dr. Art OngJumsai Na-Ayudha, B.A., M.A, D.I.C., Director of the Institute of Sathya Sai Education, Thailand. This concept is based on the integration of these components: The physical body and five senses, conscious mind, sub-conscious mind, superconscious mind, the 6th sense and the environment.

The Human Values Integrated Instructional Model has several steps in the learning process. They are:

  • Interaction With The Environment:
The student accepts stimulus from the environment through the five senses and saves it in the conscious mind.

  • Interpretation:
The student must decode or interpret the meaning of the stimulus.

  • Understanding:
Awareness dawns in the conscious mind when the decoded information is processed and cognized. It is then stored in the subconscious mind.

  • Reinforcement:
The new information that was understood in the conscious mind is reinforced by data which had been previously saved in the subconscious mind.

  • Modification Of Understanding Through Intuition:
Inner intuitive knowing, the 6th sense, validates or negates the new information based on resonance with truth.

  • Modification Of Understanding Through Fundamental Discrimination:
The blending of outside input with intuitive knowing gives the conscious mind the ability to discriminate. So, before the student does something, they consider two points: a) Is the action good for me? b) Is the action good for all?

  • Sixth Sense And Conscience:
The student improves their conscious mind through prayer and silent sitting (using a meditation on light) which connects them with their superconscious mind or 'Conscience'. The superconscious mind then gives knowledge and wisdom through the 6th sense to the conscious mind. In this step, the students become the teachers for themselves, which is learning in its highest form. The practice transcends information from books, internet, teachers or any other knowledge source.

The important piece for teachers is to integrate the Human Values with the lessons and learning process.
Oh mankind! I bind you together towards one objective - the welfare of man.
