our staff and curriculum

Dedicated Teachers
The dedication of our teachers and helpers is the core of our school. There are 9 of us present at all times for our 45 students. Our teachers are committed to the special needs of these children and we strive to keep the student/teacher ratio very low in order to achieve the level of education that is needed for each student.

Visiting Faculty
We have had a visiting faculty program wherein teachers from around the world have come to teach various subjects and lessons (writing skills, art, computers). We plan to expand this program as much as we can.

Curriculum
We follow closely the regular school schedule of classes, ie. reading, writing and arithmetic. We also offer classes in yoga, dance, music and sports. General health education classes are included as well. Those are especially important in India where lack of proper sanitation leads to many avoidable diseases.

how YOU CAN help

Thanks to all our contributors,
Children's Project purchased an old coffee plantation of 13 acres in the beautiful mountains of Coorg and began building a new home.

We are now planning buildings for classrooms and dormitories, in anticipation of the heavy monsoon season. We welcome any form of help towards this present project.

Special Projects

  • Agricultural training
  • Training in arts and crafts that are marketable (embroidery, sewing, knitting, manufacturing musical instruments)
  • Construction courses with particular attention to methods that villagers can reproduce using environmentally friendly technology.
